I had so much fun yesterday! I went to the Festival of Colors with some friends. It was so much fun, I only wish we had gotten there earlier.
Basically what the Festival of Colors is, is this festival at the Krishna temple. And, I've come to find out that pretty much everyone in Provo goes to this. And, what you do is you go to the Krishna temple and pretty much have a full on color fight! You can buy bags of gulal color, which is basically this chalk like/talcon powder, that you throw at each other. So, think of a flour fight and then imagine it all being COLORED flour! It was pretty much awesome.
We got there a little bit late, because it took us an hour and a half to get there, when it would usually only take 20 minutes, but because of traffic and construction it took us FOREVER!
I encourage everyone to participate in something like this at some point in your life. And, I learned a lot about the festival from the people that I rode with. They are from Nepal, and do this every year at home. And, the festival is celebrating like these two gods fighting or something like that. But the colors represent spring. I don't really know, but all I do know is that it was AWESOME!
There will be pictures to come soon!
