OH the colors!!!

I had so much fun yesterday! I went to the Festival of Colors with some friends. It was so much fun, I only wish we had gotten there earlier.
Basically what the Festival of Colors is, is this festival at the Krishna temple. And, I've come to find out that pretty much everyone in Provo goes to this. And, what you do is you go to the Krishna temple and pretty much have a full on color fight! You can buy bags of gulal color, which is basically this chalk like/talcon powder, that you throw at each other. So, think of a flour fight and then imagine it all being COLORED flour! It was pretty much awesome.
We got there a little bit late, because it took us an hour and a half to get there, when it would usually only take 20 minutes, but because of traffic and construction it took us FOREVER!
I encourage everyone to participate in something like this at some point in your life. And, I learned a lot about the festival from the people that I rode with. They are from Nepal, and do this every year at home. And, the festival is celebrating like these two gods fighting or something like that. But the colors represent spring. I don't really know, but all I do know is that it was AWESOME!
There will be pictures to come soon!

YAY for Old Mission Friends!

So, I got a pretty awesome surprise this weekend! I was pretty much on cloud nine from 1:00AM, Sunday morning until pretty much now. Well, I was on my facebook, and all of a sudden, I get a message and a friend request, from this guy. And, I knew that I had seen him before, but who he was, I wasn't 100% sure, until I read the message. He was one of the guys that Brandon served with on his mission. They were never companions, but were in the same district for awhile, and lived together for awhile, AND he is from our home stake. We started talking, and he shared quite a few pictures of Brandon with me, and videos. He also told me that Brandon used to talk about me ALL the time. That anytime Brandon had his pictures out, he would start talking about me. And, that every night before bed, he would talk about me, too. It felt so good to hear that. As I'm sitting here at home, waiting for him, I sometimes wonder if he ever thinks about me or anything like that, and my question was answered. In the pictures and videos, it showed that Brandon is still the same goofball that I know and love, which is SOOOO good (I was a little worried!).
Then, about an hour after talking with that guy, I get another friend request. And, I knew that I knew this guys name. He was one of Brandon's companions! I actually sent him some stuff in Brandon's Valentine's Day package last year. This guy, had a girlfriend waiting for him on the mission, so I guess that he and Brandon got a long great because of that. It was great, we talked about all sorts of stuff, and he also told me how much Brandon talked about me on the mission, and how much he OBVIOUSLY loved me. He also shared some pictures with me, of Brandon. And, it was seriously just awesome to get to talk to him. I heard so much about him through Brandon's emails, so I was excited!
Well, anyways, I am just excited to now be friends with these guys. They both told me how great of a missionary Brandon is. And that they have both been blown away by him. They said that there is no need to worry about him not being focused on the work, because Brandon is probably one of the most focused guys down there. It's nice to have a little bit of my worries eased. And, I just wanted to share my exciting news! YAY for old mission friends!

CONFUDDLED!!!

I have no idea how to even write this, let alone handle this situation! OK, so there is this guy that apparently likes me. I know, you would think that's not a problem, right? But, no... it is. He likes me, but I don't like him like that. And, I feel really awkward.
He asked me on a date on Friday afternoon, for that night. He said that his friends were going to go and get sushi and then bowling, and he wanted to know if I wanted to go with him. I told him that I may have plans with some other friends, but that I would let him know. But, I'll be honest, I didn't really want to go, because I felt totally awkward. So, I texted him and told him that I wouldn't be able to go, but that we should do something another time. (That was the polite thing to do, right?) Well, he then decided to ask me out for Saturday night (tonight). He asked me to go to a movie, that I have been REALLY wanting to see, so I said yes.
Well, we went to the movie. And, let me tell you, it was HORRIBLE! I was thinking it was going to be scary. No, it straight up showed a girl getting raped, people getting their heads smashed in with hammers, people's hand's getting gnarled up by garbage disposals, and people's head's being blown up in microwaves. Seriously, not my kind of movie.
When we got back to my apartment, he walked me up to my door. He then told me that his friends were going to be playing some board games at 10:30, and asked me if I wanted to go. I felt really bad, but I said no. I don't want to lead him on, which is why I said no. I went to give him a "one-armed" hug, before walking in the apartment, and he did a "two-armed", wrap around hug! I didn't know what to do... kind of awkward. Later, I texted him and told him that I had fun and thank you. He said that he had fun, and that NEXT TIME he wants to take me to a real scary movie.
Errggghhhh... now, what I am confuddled about! How do I let him down gently, without breaking his heart? He is one of my FHE kids, and in my ward, so I am obviously going to have to see him for the rest of the semester. I would hate to have to flat out tell him that I'm not interested. WHAT SHOULD I DO???

No day but today.

There is no future,
There is no past.
I live this moment,
as my last.

There's only us,
There's only this.
Forget regret,
Or life is yours to miss.

No other road,
No other way.
No day but today.

We need to learn to live for the moment. We could die tomorrow, so, we need to live for today.

(sorry... I've been listening to songs from different musicals today, and have had some enlightenment from them)

I think I'll try Defying Gravity!

No, I can't want it anymore.
Something has changed within me.
Something is not the same.
I'm through with playing by the rules of someone elses game.
Too late for second-guessing.
Too late to go back to sleep!
It's time to trust my instincts.
Close my eyes, and leap!
It's time to try defying gravity.
I think I'll try defying gravity, and you can't pull me down!

I'm through accepting limits,
'Cuz someone says they're so!
Some things I cannot change,
but 'till I try, I'll never know!
Too long I've been afraid of
losing love, I guess I've lost!
Well, if that's love, it comes at much to high a cost!
I'd sooner buy defying gravity
Kiss me goodbye!
I'm defying gravity, and you can't pull me down!

So, I've been thinking A LOT lately, and I've realized that I don't really care what anyone else thinks. People may think that my dreams are impossible, but I want to prove that they're not.

Everyone deserves a chance to fly, and if I'm flying solo, at least I'm flying free... no wizard that there is or was is ever gonna bring me down.

Those that think they can dictate my life, who I love, or who loves me. You are the wizard, you are the gravity that has been holding me down. And, I think I'll try defying gravity.

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

So, today is St. Patrick's Day... YAY! It's more of a "make believe" holiday. At least for me, anyways. I'm not Catholic, and I'm not Irish, so why is there a reason to celebrate this day?
I remember when I was little, getting so excited for St. Patrick's Day. (I also remember getting excited for EVERY holiday that was ever talked about in elementary school, but that's besides the point.) Well, my mom would always dress Lauren and I up SOOOO cute in green. Lauren and I thought it was so cool that once we were dressed, we'd go in and wake my dad up and see if he was wearing green, and if he wasn't, we'd pinch him! (Mom made sure to tell us that we were only allowed to pinch Dad, and DEFINITELY no one at school!) I just remember St. Patrick's Day was so fun, because for dinner, she'd dye all of our food GREEN and tell us that the leprechaun snuck into our kitchen while the food was cooking and turned all of our food green. Oh, and I remember she'd make chicken nuggets (we surprisingly weren't big fans of chicken nuggets) and she'd tell us that they were like lumps of gold! My mom was so creative and made things so fun.
I know that it sounds weird, but I cannot wait to be a mom and get to do these things with my own children. I did it with the girls that I used to nanny, and they thought it was AWESOME!
This year, I was so excited for it to finally get close to St. Patrick's Day, because Mc Donald's serves these shakes called Shamrock shakes. They are seriously... AMAZING! When I was little, my dad loved them, so he'd take Lauren and I through the drive-thru for Shamrock shakes, and we'd get to share one. For those of you who don't know what a Shamrock shake is, it is a GREEN mint shake. I guess kind of like mint-n-chip, but there is not chip to this mint. And, they are so good, and just remind me of my childhood. And, they also remind me of last year, when I got my appendix out, on the way home from the hospital my mom drove through Mc Donald's and got me a Shamrock shake and french fries, because I couldn't eat real food yet.
Well, anyways, this has been ENOUGH rambling for me on this fabulous SPRING St. Patrick's Day! I hope that your St. Patrick's Day has been tons of fun!

You're so vaign, I bet you think this post is about you, don't you!

Dear Reader,
So, it's pretty funny. My blog post from last night (about the issues that I'm having) has sparked some concern. People think that the post is about them. Hmmm... it may be, but it may not be. But, the world may NEVER know! hahahaha.
I'm so irritated with people talking crap about me! I mean, you may be in high school (you also may not be), but I am not in high school anymore. I graduated 3 years ago, and the day I left there, I thought I was done with the drama, apparently I was wrong! Grow up, grow a pair, and stop beating around the bush! I'm not going anywhere! Goodness gracious... I'm tired of this drama. If this post applies to you, than do something about it. Change how you're treating me (and other people, because I'm sure I'm not the only one being treated badly by you).
Thanks and I love all of my readers,
Terri Ann

"I'll be reading your notes in vaign, they are Novacaine, but lately I've been the same."

So, I just wanted to say that today is Brandon's birthday! He's 21 now! CRAZY! I remember going out for his 19th (only 2 months before he left for his mission). It's crazy that it's already been 2 years since then. This date is amazing for a few different reasons. One, because it's Brandon's birthday. But the other is because this was the first day (two years ago) that I decided to start going to church with Brandon. We went to a roadshow, that his siblings were in, and I asked him after the roadshow if it would be ok if I went to church with him the following Sunday. From there, it was all history. He has brought so much amazing stuff into my life over the past two years, and shared every step of his mission with me. I'm so grateful for him, and I just wanted to wish him a Happy Birthday (even though he won't see this, at least not for another couple of months). My birthday is next... YAY... 21 in one month and 7 days!!!

Some Issues I'm Having

Dear Reader,
So, I know that there are some of you who read my blog, who are not the biggest fans of me. But, I am honestly trying to be the bigger person in this situation. I have never said anything hurtful or mean to you, or about you, so why do you insist on doing this to me? There is a guy out there who LOVES me. You may not believe it, but he does. He has told me COUNTLESS times, and if you would like the proof, I can show it to you, but I honestly don't feel like I should have to. I don't understand why you don't like me, or what I did to deserve the cruel treatment that you have given me. If you have a problem with me, please be an ADULT and say it to me, and we can resolve it, instead of being conniving and going behind my back, and talking to someone who ISN'T going to do anything at this moment in time (if ever). I'm tired of the hurtful things that you have said about me, behind my back. You think I don't know what you've said, but I do! I have proof of the things that you've said! Can we please resolve this issue, before it is too late, and before said guy, who LOVES me, comes home?
You've said that I am not mature enough or responsible enough to be in a relationship, with above mentioned "guy who LOVES me". But, I'm pretty sure that I have come out to Utah, lived on my own, and COMPLETELY supported myself for the past 9 months. My Mommy and Daddy have not paid ONE CENT for me. I have had to grow up A LOT out here, and have matured in ways that people who are being supported by their parents (whether in school, living expenses, or whatever) may never mature. I know that life is not a piece of cake. I have lived a very hard life (in my almost 21 years). A life that most people would not wish upon their enemies. But, I have lived it, and overcome it. So, for you to think that I am irresponsible or immature, I feel like you have not gotten to know the real me. For those who really know me, they know that I am not a "crazy/obsessed" girl. I live MY life, each day, to the fullest. I strive EVERYDAY to become a better person, so that I can someday return to live with my Father in Heaven, and so that someday I can be the woman that a man is proud to call his wife. I am kind hearted, a nurturer, and a pleaser. Which is why I'm writing this letter "to the Reader". I want you to like me. You may not love me, but I want you to like me. I feel like I have never given you a reason NOT to like me.
So, if you're reading this, and you know who you are. Please give me a chance. Take the next few months to get to know me. You might actually learn to like me.
Thanks and I love all of my readers,
Terri Ann

Broken Tookis...

I'm sure that some of you are wondering what a "tookis" is, and why I'm publicizing that it is broken. The only reason I am thinking that some of you do not know what a "tookis" is, is because my wonderful roommate Melissa didn't know what it was! Well, for those of you who do not know what it is, it is a butt, a tooshy, a rump, a rear end (whatever word you would like to use for the thing attached to your body that you sit on).
So, here's the story. Oh, and before I tell the story of how I broke my tookis, I would like to share another story. My friend Marc thinks it is hilarious how I can tell stories. I guess that I get it from my Papa, but I am pretty much AMAZING at telling stories. It may not be very noticeable through my blog, but I get very animated when I tell a story, get all into it, and just grab your attention. I'm going to try and do that with this story, but, it may be hard.
All last week, my friend Joe and I were talking about going snowboarding. We decided that we were going to go on Friday. YAY! I was so excited, you have no idea! Well, then, on Thursday night, I get a text from Joe, saying that we aren't going to go on Friday anymore, but that we were going to wait until Saturday, when our friend Jessica could go. That ended up being a GREAT idea. I woke up on Friday and felt like I was dead. My chest was all congested, and I felt like Death had come knocking on my door. So, I ended up sleeping pretty much all day, so it was good that we didn't go snowboarding. Then, on Saturday morning, I got a text from Joe, and he said that we weren't going to be going snowboarding anymore. I wasn't too upset about it, I just rolled back over and went back to sleep. At around 2:00, I went down and was talking to Jessica, and she said that she and her sister and some other friends were going to be going snowboarding at night, and asked if I wanted to go. I decided, definitely! I went back up to my apartment and got all ready to go snowboarding.
There ended up being 7 of us that went. We went up to Brighton, to go night snowboarding. It was way fun! I hadn't actually been snowboarding in about 2 years. I was a little nervous. I didn't fall off of the ski-lift, like I thought I would, which was a good sign! So, Joe and I went up together, and we start coming down the hill. I ate it quite a bit... which I guess is to be expected. Anyways, Joe and I went down on some runs. I probably went on like 4 or 5 long runs. It was way fun! Well, I have this problem snowboarding, I'm not very good at riding toe side. I am pretty good at heel side, but not so bueno at toe side. I made a comment to Joe (while taking a little breather, since I had been really sick) on my last run, that I don't ever really fall on my butt, but that I fall on my knees and kill my knees! Well, I spoke too soon. As I'm finishing my last run, I'm almost to the bottom, where the ski lift is, and this other boarder cuts me off! I spun out and totally ate it. Or, should I say, my tookis totally ate it! A pain shot up my spine, like I had never felt before. I felt like I was going to vomit and I couldn't walk for a minute. I just layed there in pain and agony, for about 5 minutes. I finally got up, and was able to hobble over to these logs by the ski lift, and I sat there for about 10 minutes, waiting for Joe to come down. I was dead.
When I got home, I looked at my knees, because on my way down the hill on the last run, I killed my right knee. And, my right knee was TWICE the size that it normally is. And, I took a look at my tookis. Let me just say, the NASTIEST bruises on my tookis, that I have ever seen in my life! It is now, almost a week later, and the bruises on my tookis, still there, still nasty, and it's still broken. My knees are bruised up, but not as much pain as they were the other day. So, here I am... stuck in bed (because my roommate Melissa won't let me leave my bed, she keeps telling me to ELEVATE my butt). I have been wanting to go snowboarding again, but probably not the smartest idea. I think that one small fall on my butt, I might die! hahaha.

Feels SOOOO Good!

So, today was the day that I got my free facial. And, OMG, let me tell you, it felt amazing. My skin is nice and smooth, and there was this lip stuff that makes your lips nice and smooth. (If only there was someone to notice who would notice) Well, ya, it was tons of fun, and for those of you who didn't come, you missed out!
Now, I'm looking good, feeling good, and I've got no one to even notice! LAME sauce! Anywho, I hope that you all have a great rest of the weekend. And, I will be having free facials AGAIN at my apt the Saturday of Conference weekend (during the Priesthood session), if you want to come!

Mary Kay Facials!!!

I'm pretty excited, and nervous about this at the same time. One of my good friends, Kay, gave my name and phone number to some Mary Kay rep, and the rep called me and asked if I wanted to get a free facial. I was a little nervous, that there would be some hidden fees in there somewhere. You know, like it wasn't really going to be free or something. Well, it is entirely free! The lady told me that if I invite some friends, they will ALSO get free facials, AND I will get some free product. I've never gotten a facial before, but I hear that they are amazing, so I figured that I would invite whoever wants to come!
It's at 10:00 AM this Thursday morning. I'm sure that most of you are busy or whatever, but if you want to come and get a free facial, let me know! I need to let her know by Wednesday (March 4th) afternoon.

Oh Wow...

So, I feel really bad. And, I feel like I've been leaving everyone out of my life over the past few weeks. I just feel like there has nothing really exciting to post about. lol.
OK, so it's March. OMG, I cannot believe that it is already March. Melissa and I were just talking about how fast time has passed. I remember back when I moved into my apartment in August, that I couldn't believe that I only had 9 months left until Brandon got home. And now, I only have LESS THAN 3 months left. It's ridiculous, where did the time go? I feel like I haven't been too busy, yet the time has flown by like I have been SUPER busy.
There has been a lot of drama in my life the past few weeks. And, I'm trying to ignore it. I know, ignoring a problem doesn't solve it, and it only makes problems bigger, but when these problems aren't easily solved I feel more comfortable not being confrontational and just ignoring it. At least for the next 3 months I will be ignoring this problem, and I can handle it when Brandon comes home. Considering it is partially his fault for the problem in the first place. So, I'm not sure if I could be anymore vague in that last little paragraph, but oh well, we're moving on!
In the past two weeks, Lauren and Mason WOULD HAVE celebrated their 4-year anniversary on February 23rd (had Lauren not broken up with Mason). Brandon and I celebrated our 2-year anniversary on February 24th. And, Hailey celebrated her 1st Birthday on February 25th. I was really sad that I couldn't be home this past weekend for Hailey's birthday party, but I talked to Mason throughout the afternoon and got pictures sent to me.
I've been REALLY sick for the past week. Last Saturday (the 21st) I went to the "Hot Pots" with some friends, and let me tell you... they were HOT! Like, ridiculously hot, I thought that I had 1st degree burns all over my legs because it was so hot! When I got home, my legs were still BRIGHT red. Well, anyways, we went to the hot pots, and then when we got out of the water, it was cold outside, so I don't think that was the best choice, because I think that's how I got sick. Last Sunday, I woke up and had no voice. And then, on Monday, I woke up and felt like I had 3 bricks fall on my chest over night. My chest felt so heavy and sick, and it's felt that way ever since. In 3-nights, I got 33 hours of sleep, I slept for 13-hours in one night! On Friday and Saturday, I was feeling a little bit better, and then on Saturday night, I had a really emotional and rough night, and the sickness all came back! So, I've been chilling at home, drinking lots of water, for the past 2 days!
I'm hoping that I get better soon, and that it doesn't turn into bronchitis or pneumonia. I wasn't worried about pneumonia, until my friend Marc mentioned it. So, keep me in your prayers, I'm avoiding going to the doctor, and hoping that over the counter medications will do the trick! Anyways, I'm off to bed. But, this month, I'm definitely going to try and keep everyone a little bit more updated! (But, we'll see what happens! ha ha ha).
Love ya,
Terri!
