EFY 2009 Counselor Interview

First off, I was looking at my blog today and I realized that I hadn't posted anything in awhile. It was kind of weird looking and seeing only one post in 2009. So, I decided that I would make it two posts!

Yesterday, I had my interview to be an EFY counselor for this coming summer. I was really excited for it, but kind of nervous at the same time. Many of my friends who were counselors with me over the summer told me that I shouldn't even have to interview to be a counselor for this summer, that they should just give it to me. These comments really boosted my self-esteem, which has been a little low lately, but due to the fact that I wasn't hired to be a BC, I am still having doubts if I was a good counselor at all.

I had my interview yesterday at 1:00, and it was kind of cool, our interview group was the first interview group for the BYU-Provo sessions. Well, anyways, we went through the whole interview, and it was a little bit different than last year's interview. Last year, we were asked to come up with our own quick lesson on a principle of the gospel. So, I went to the interview with a lesson on obedience in mind. When I got there, they gave me a slip of paper with a scripture on it and told me to teach on that topic. It was kind of scary at first, but once I read the scripture and realized that it was 1Corinthians 13:8, on charity, my nerves were calmed.

I think that I did well in the interview, or atleast I hope that I did well. Lindsay Wilson (the administrator over EFY in Provo) told me that I should find out within the next few weeks, hopefully I do. I honestly cannot wait to start planning out this CRAZY summer that I will have!
